How Did Duskmourn Affect the Meta?
Here are some of the biggest changes to deck popularity and win rates pre- and post-Duskmourn release:
- Domain Ramp: 34 decks, 53.9% win rate in BLB meta. 50 decks, 65.3% win rate in DSK meta. Overall, +11.4% win rate increase; turns out Overlord of the Hauntwoods Overlord of the Hauntwoods is really good for this deck!
- Golgari Midrange: 65 decks, 52.3% win rate in BLB meta. 44 decks, 42.4% win rate in DSK meta. Overall, -9.9% win rate decrease; this deck didn’t pick up anything immediately obvious in DSK, which led to it having the biggest fall in popularity. That said, the demon package with Unholy Annex // Ritual Chamber
Unholy Annex
Ritual Chamber
is looking promising. - Mono-White Token Control: 8 decks, 70.8% win rate in BLB meta. 46 decks, 49.3% win rate in DSK meta. Overall, -21.6% win rate decrease; a huge increase in popularity, especially for a control deck, often means lower win rates, and this was the biggest increase in a deck’s popularity between the two metas (yes, even more of an increase than Azorius Tempo!).
- Orzhov Midrange: 18 decks, 66.7% win rate in BLB meta. 9 decks, 25.9% win rate in DSK meta. Overall, -40.7% win rate decrease; struggling along in the battle for “best midrange”, Orzhov fell off when Dimir Midrange got Enduring Curiosity Enduring Curiosity .
